WELCOME!
If you are considering psychotherapy, take some time and pay attention to what you need, what you would like to get from therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. Deciding to commit to psychotherapy and finding the right therapist are very personal and important tasks. Don't rush.
You're probably noticing that therapy is a unique service. It is a relationship consisting of trust, empathy, skill, knowledge and intuition. It involves being vulnerable and trusting oneself and the therapist.
Successful therapy depends on the training and skill of the therapist and on the communication, trust and professional relationship that is created between the client and therapist.
For therapy to be optimally effective, you must feel safe and understood, and your therapist is accurately attuned in to your feelings. That's when the rewards are often more wonderful than you can imagine. Lives change.
A lot of my work is with children and families.
- Every child's mental health is important.
- Many children have mental health problems.
- These problems are real and painful and can be severe.
- Mental health problems can be recognized and treated.
- Caring families and communities working together can help.
With every client, my goal is to work myself out of a job.
